The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (Week 18)

Tried to look at my blog a few minutes ago... Google Chrome couldn't find it... hopefully it will be there come Monday morning!

Looking at my weekend... trying to come up with:
Incorporating Color

... and that means I am linking up with Kati and Kate!

So, let's get to it!

The Good: I made a deliciously large batch of fried rice for the band picnic.
about 60 servings
They ate it all!
I figured the whole batch cost about $9... and fed a lot of folks...
She loved it!
The Bad: The Stern German was out of town (that's not the bad thing) and his dumb dog woke me up with his barking like a rabid beast at 6:00 Sunday morning.

I went out to the garage to make sure everything was okay and to shut him up (no, not permanently) so he wouldn't wake anyone else in the neighborhood up...
He wouldn't make eye contact...
do you think he knew I was unhappy?
Nope, not gonna look at me...
maybe he's smarter than I give him credit for!

... and it was too early to drink away my rage... dang.

The Ugly: I sat behind the Holy Nodder in church.
Lately it seems that is where I end up sitting... but usually a few rows back at least.

By the time I got the Angsty Teen in the car, went to get my geriatric father, and got to church.... we were only about five minutes early. So our seating options were way slightly less than ideal.

This person loves to nod in agreement with the pastor... kind of a "You preach it to those dirty, rotten sinners, Pastor." kind of nod. Trust me, I know... from first hand experience what she thinks of us dirty, rotten sinners.

She once invited me over for iced tea... and then proceeded to pull out a whole page and a half from her notebook of a hand written list of my offenses she had been keeping track of.... Really? Get a life.

What ever happened to "judge not lest ye be judged" or "why beholdest thou the mote that is in they brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye"? (Clearly I grew up with the King James Version.)

In conclusion:
So that's my weekend... and yes, because I am a dirty, rotten sinner (clearly, we all are) I am slightly reveling in the fact that my neck isn't as fat as hers.. I have better hair... and my children are way cuter... and better at doing life... But, since I pretty sure I don't want to get struck by lightning... I won't say any of that.

Happy Monday! :)

  1. Wow, I would have to steer clear of her at all costs! Congrats on that delicious fried rice at such a reasonable price!
