High Five for Friday! (Week 27)

It is Friday! Hope you have fun plans for your weekend.

Here are some of the highlights from my week, in no particular order:

1. I have some pretty clean windows!
Last weekend the Stern German washed some windows... dang... so much light is coming in now... and look... there... in my front window... guess I never took down my great IKEA wreath after Christmas last year! It's been a busy year.

2. I made some great food this week... Wild Rice soup, homemade buns, Pad Thai, mummy hotdogs, Gnocchi w/Creamy Spinash Alfredo, Halloween cupcakes...

Here's a few pictures:

No wonder my kitchen is always a mess!

3. I bought Nutella for the Angsty Teen... and look what someone had left just for me:
a coupon for $1 off! woo hoo!
4. I had great help placing an order at Brookstone.com.

I had bought a deal from Groupon to buy $50 worth of merchandise for $25 from Brookstone. I had something in mind to buy when I purchased the deal... but I realized I didn't need it anymore.

So I used the Groupon to buy myself something else. The coupon expired last night... and I didn't finish placing the order until last night... and the website wouldn't accept my coupon code. I called their toll-free number.

Had the best customer service experience I have had over the phone in a long, long time.

Here is why:

A. Janeesha spoke English... and not just any English... the grammatically correct, easy-to-understand kind. Seriously... when have you had someone with those kind of skills answer the phone on a customer service line? Usually my calls are sent to India... and I talk to Raoul... and I say "What?" a lot.

B. Janeesha was smart...  She understood what I was trying to explain to her and what needed to be done... she entered my order quickly and when the computer rang up a price wrong she went right in and fixed it...

When she asked if there was anything else she could do for me I said, "Yes. I have had a great shopping experience with you and I would like to know your supervisor's name and how to contact that person to let them know what a great job you are doing." She put me on hold and went and got her supervisor.

5. It was Halloween! (and only one Trick or Treater... so lots of candy leftover!)

Got to see the Grand Boys.
Yes, he's happy to see me.
but that really is a banana in his pocket.
